BACKGROUND

We have offered computer instruction and support (of various kinds) for many years.  A very early class talked about choosing between an Apple II and an IBM PC! More recently we have been bombarded with requests for good quality, affordable classes that assist in learning about computers and help in getting a better job. Because of that we are offering BOTH  Certification and non-Certification classes in 2001.

.

CERTIFICATION CLASSES

There are many computer related jobs.  They need workers!  But, how do you know if an applicant knows anything?  Simple.  Make him/her pass a test on the subject.  When they pass, they are "Certified" in that area.

Since there are over 100 computer certifications, one test does not cover everything.  Some tests are quite popular, others rare.  You, the student, must pick which topics and tests to study for.  Originally, theses tests measured your "smarts" on ONE product made by ONE company.   This seemed wasteful, so industry leaders now encourage students to take tests of general subject knowledge as the first or basic certifications, and LATER take advanced tests from one vendor.  CompTIA, (www.comptia.com) an industry organization, provide many of these basic tests.  Their tests quiz you on products from many vendors, and topics that should be the same from all vendors.

Novell and Microsoft, 2 of the computer biggies, encourage students to get CompTIA certifications FIRST.  Later they can go for the advanced Certifications that measure a specific product knowledge (such as Microsoft Windows 2000 Server).  In fact, many experts advise getting the CompTIA Certifications, then gaining experience, then more tests, then more experience, etc.

We specialize in CompTIA certifications.  Other firms "specialize" in everything, which seems hard to do!  They often have beautiful (and expensive) offices.  Remember, to be Certified all you have to do is take, and pass, a fairly expensive test given ON a computer (not on paper). You need not go to class, read any books, or prepare at all.  Just take, and pass, the test.  If you flunk it just pay another $200 and try again!  Very few people can do this.  Most people spend money on classes, books, practice tests, flashcards, etc. to HELP them pass.

The trick is to spend your money wisely!  Since a computer "newbie", without experience, will rarely get the fantastic salaries quoted in the ads, it is wise to spend your training dollar carefully.  Specializing in affordable classes, we give the basic student an opportunity to pass the CompTIA (A+, Net+, i-Net+, Server+, etc) tests without going broke.  Later, when you have a good computer job, let your employer help pay for the fancy courses.  We realize that many of you provide your own money and time to get ahead.  Going broke doesn't help!  Our classes are short but intense courses, including books, materials, practice tests, etc. that provide you with a much better chance of PASSING the test(s).

You still need to be motivated and determined! Our goal is to provide the best value in test training in this area, cutting down on fancy overhead, but not skimping on materials necessary to pass.  Classes, of necessity, must be small.  We currently have A+, Net+, and i-Net+ classes, with Server+ and Linux+ to come.

.

NON-CERTIFICATION CLASSES

Not everyone wants to be certified, but they do wish to learn.  We currently offer 2 short seminars.  The first, Introduction to the e-Bay auctions, explains how e-Bay works.  We discuss buying strategies, how to check out bidders and seller, verification techniques, etc.  Also discussed is how to sell on e-bay.

The second seminar, Advanced e-Bay, Buying and Selling talks in detail about selling tips, how to put pictures on your site, etc.  Millions of people buy on e-bay, and an amazing number are making real money selling there too.  Some people even have a full time "job" as an e-bay seller.  Could this be you?.

.

NOTE: Our non-certification classes are both larger (more students) and substantially less expensive than the intensive Certification classes.  We still reserve the right to strictly limit size.  We intend to keep our reputation for unique and valuable training at an exceptional price..
